The Web Based Project Management System (Web ProMS) is an online tool designed to help team based groups plan the development of software projects. The system will provide users with the ability to create and manage a team portal. The portal will provide mechanisms for inter-team communication, project timeline management, version tracking (deployed through either Concurrent Version Systems (CVS) or Subversion (SVN)), task assignment, and bug tracking. The goal is to make managing teams simpler for team leaders and to provide an extensible mechanism whereby team member contribution can be tracked. The system will be open source. Ideally, the system will also allow users to plug in custom tools specific to their team and project environment.
